Volvo XC90 - an incredible 12 years lasted on the assembly line of the first generation Volvo XC90 - it was the first and, as it turned out, a very successful large Volvo crossover. Moreover, it does not leave the stage and will still be produced for some time at the new Volvo plant in China.

The new XC90 is the first Volvo car to be built on the new modular SPA platform, which is tuned for four-cylinder turbo engines of the latest Drive-E family and with the possibility of installing hybrid systems. Actually, the most powerful version of the XC90 T8 crossover, in addition to a two-liter gasoline engine with a turbine and a compressor with a capacity of 318 hp, is equipped with two electric motors with a lithium-ion battery located in the base. The rear electric motor develops 60 kW, while the front one is integrated into an eight-speed automatic and adds another 34 kW. With such a power supply, the seven-seater Volvo XC90 “shoots” up to 100 km / h in just 5.9 seconds, consuming an average of only 2.5 l / 100 km! But such a consumption is achievable only in laboratory conditions according to the current fuel consumption accounting system, and we still have to find out how much XC90 we consume in reality.

The new Volvo XC90 is interesting not only for its technical innovations, including in the multimedia field with a huge 9-inch touch screen, but also impresses with its luxury. For example, the gear lever knob is made of expensive Swedish Orrefors crystal. And in front of the driver's eyes is a chic digital picture, instead of traditional arrow scales, and the screen diagonal is as much as 12.3 inches. Is Volvo's highest degree of safety worth mentioning?
