Volvo V40 - eit is a compact C-class hatchback, which was developed back in the days when Volvo was part of the Ford Motor Company. So it shares the front-wheel-drive Volvo P1 platform (also known as the Ford C1 and Mazda BK) with the C30 three-door hatchback and S40 sedan that were released earlier.

Volvo V40 was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 and the beautiful hatchback was warmly received by the public and journalists. It was the last project of the talented English designer Peter Horbury before he was appointed chief stylist of the Geely Corporation, which also took over Volvo in 2010. Before Horbury was responsible for the appearance of such premium brands as Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin, when they were part of the premium PAG group of the Ford concern.

From a technical point of view, the Volvo V40 was also a success. Traditionally for all Swedish cars, the hatchback provides its riders with the highest possible level of active and passive safety, earning the maximum five stars in the rating of the European New Car Assessment Program EuroNCAP. Moreover, active safety is rated at the maximum 100%, thanks to the second-generation integrated City Safety system, which is capable of preventing accidents at speeds up to 50 km / h, and the Pedestrian Detection system, which detects pedestrians and cyclists who can fall under the wheels of a car, and without intervention the driver to brake to avoid a collision.

Volvo V40 is produced in the Belgian city of Ghent and is equipped with a whole galaxy of both diesel and gasoline engines, ranging from 115 to 240 hp. True, not all modifications are available on our market, and even the electric modification of the Volvo V40 D4 Drive-E with an eight-speed automatic transmission is available for the most advanced countries.
